Let Go And Let God: Bible Verses On Surrender
This post is all about putting your faith into action through surrender with Let Go and Let God Bible verses, plus practical ways to surrender daily.

You wake up and something changes. You are worried, anxious, or even fearful about your future, or it could be your job, family, friends, maybe a medical diagnosis, or maybe it is someone who is attacking your character. Whatever the situation, you are not in control; it feels like it is consuming you and tearing you apart.
It is human nature to try to fix or change what is not right. You realize, mentally, that you do not have the power to change it, and that you have nowhere else to turn but to God.
God's plan was never for us to carry the burdens of this life alone or figure it all out. God's word tells us over and over in the Bible that there were real people just like you and me who were stressed, confused, struggled, and scared. Actually, you will find that letting go and letting God is a Biblical principle throughout the Bible.
The Word of God was left for you and me to be our handbook in this life.
If this is you, struggling with or consumed by a situation, looking for answers, stick with me. Let's ask some questions and find the answers.
How could your life change if you put into practice the ‘Let Go and Let God' Bible verses, applied them to your daily life, and prayed?
Surrender is not about giving up and checking out. It is the deliberate choice to stop trusting your own understanding above God's and to place what you cannot control into the hands of the One who can.
In the Christian life, to fully surrender and put it in God's hands is sometimes one of the hardest things to do.
But it is when you surrender that you experience God's faithfulness.
In the Bible, you read about God's faithfulness.
Have you personally experienced it?
When you trust God and surrender, you experience God's presence, God's sovereignty, spiritual growth, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. I say this because I have experienced it. I am a living testimony to it. It was when I surrendered that my life was changed. The Lord gave me His divine guidance. I felt God's strength because I did not have any left. The power of God was undeniable. God is faithful, and God's ways are always better than our ways.
How would your day change if…

…when your mind begins to get consumed by the situation, you grab your Bible, read Scripture, and begin to pray the battle cries from your soul?
As I write this, I was having a really good day yesterday. It started super productive, getting lots accomplished off my list, and then I was put in a situation that changed my day, and honestly, I was shaking inside.
I am 58 years old and found myself in unfamiliar territory.
Without going into detail, I went home; instead of calling a friend, I went to the Lord. I grabbed my Bible, turned to Psalm 91.
I began to read it out loud, claim it, and pray. I prayed and prayed and gave the situation to God. (It was then that I changed what I planned to write about and decided to write about this for my post this week. As an act of therapy, maybe, I thought if I need to hear this, others may need it too.)
What I did find was that as soon as I opened up my Bible and began praying battle cries to my Lord and Savior, the peace of God fell over me.
It was all going to be okay. God has got this.
I have to let it go because, honestly, I can do nothing about it except to do my part.
The situation has not changed. I can not change others, but I do know the One who can!
I thought it would be helpful if I put together some “let go and let God” Bible verses to stand on for you and me, for now or the next time we experience difficult times.
From experience, I know the only way to find true peace is through surrender and trust in God.
Together, let's look at ‘Let Go and Let God' Bible verses and stand on God's promises.
Let's begin the list of Scripture references with some Biblical truths and a foundation as you read these Bible verses.
Psalm 18:6 (NIV), In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

Letting go and surrendering is an act of faith, not a one-time event but a daily choice.
Let's be reminded of what faith is before we begin.
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV), Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
As you read these Bible verses, I pray that you invite the Lord into your situation, and the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV), For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Psalm 56:3

What to do when surrendering feels impossible?
1. Acknowledge the situation, fear, anxiety, or however you are feeling.
God does not want you to pretend you are okay. He wants you to go to Him and pour out your heart with honesty. Be real and be raw. God can handle it!
As a reminder, even though you may be experiencing fear, anxiety, or however you are feeling, it does not mean you do not have enough faith!
Jesus wept.
David wrote many of the Psalms out of anxiety and doubt.
It is because of faith that you can move forward.
It is because of faith that you will get through it and crush it.
It means you do not let fear make the final call.
You keep your eyes on Jesus, trust Him, and have faith!
Faith Crushes Fear
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV), For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2. Remind yourself of the faithfulness of God.
Maybe this is your first time you have fully surrendered. If it is, hold on to your seat, because the Lord will show up and show off. God is faithful.
If you have experienced God's faithfulness, then write those experiences down as a reminder for yourself. Past evidence is powerful. Share your story in the comments. Someone might need to hear it today.
Another good place to be reminded of God's faithfulness is in the Bible. Hebrews Chapter 11 is called the ‘Faith in Action' chapter.
3. Praying the hard prayers.
God, I don't know how this ends, but I'm choosing to trust You with it.

Giving it to the Lord and trusting Him does not mean stopping to do your part. It is a partnership with the Lord and a trust in Him for the outcome. Sometimes that might be really hard, but it is what we are to do. Remember, we are not built to carry the burdens of this world.
How to actually practice ‘Let Go and Let God' Bible verses.
Reading these verses one time will not change your life, but practicing them daily will.
You do not want to wait for the big things in life to happen. Begin each day with the small things, and when the big things happen, you will be prepared.
1. Begin each day with the full armor of God.
This is found in Ephesians 6:10-18. I am going to break this down verse by verse because I think it is important not to miss any part of it. (Even though I know it, I need to break it down for myself and read it slowly again!)
Ephesians 6:10 (NIV), Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Ephesians 6:11 (NIV), Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Ephesians 6:12 (NIV), For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:13 (NIV), Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:14 (NIV), Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
Ephesians 6:15 (NIV), and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Ephesians 6:16 (NIV), In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Ephesians 6:17 (NIV), Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV), And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
2. Start the morning with surrender.
If you are able, say it out loud. Speaking is more powerful than thinking it because it forces you to be specific about what you are letting go of.
3. Pick out one verse at a time.
Put your verse on your mirror, in your car, by your bed, on your phone, wherever you will see it. Read it, learn it until it soaks into your heart. You don't want the verse to be head knowledge; you want it to be part of your heart.
When you feel like your verse has moved from head knowledge to your heart, then pick another verse and continue.
4. Write it down and put it down.
It might be helpful to write it down, speak it, and put it down as you do this; visualize laying it at the cross. You can do this when it starts taking up space in your mind that it does not deserve. Get rid of the thought physically by writing it down, putting it down, and casting it to the Lord.
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV), Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
5. End the day with gratitude.
Think of at least one blessing you had and what the Lord did that you could not do on your own. You will be surprised when you begin to train your mind to look for them each day. This will help build your trust and see God's faithfulness.
My mom always used to ask me, What did you learn?
I ask this question to both you and me.
What did you learn from these ‘Let Go and Let God' Bible verses?
So, my answer to the question would be.
Make an intentional decision each day to put on the full armor of God, get into God's Word, pray, and acknowledge the situation. God does not want you to pretend you are okay. He wants you to go to Him and pour out your heart with honesty. Be real and be raw. God can handle it! Trust Him with it all and the outcome. Fully surrender, because there is freedom in the Spirit of the Lord. Have faith!
I answered, but what did you learn?
You are welcome to respond in the comment section.
So, I encourage you to invite Jesus into your situation, pray, and read the Word of God. As you do this, let go and surrender, even if your situation does not change immediately. But what does change is that you will experience a peace you cannot explain and God's presence. You and I were not built to carry these burdens of this life alone. So do your part, have faith, be obedient, and let God do the rest and take care of the outcome.
A simple prayer to help you Let Go and let God.
Sometimes you do not even know what to pray or how to pray. The words do not need to be perfect to be powerful. The Lord wants honesty and your heart. Talk to Him as you do a friend, because He is your friend, and guess what? He loves you more!
It could be that you are so upset that you can't find words to pray. That is okay because Jesus is there interceding for you. He hears your groans and your cries when you call out to Him. Keep seeking Him, and you will find Him! He is there with you. Holding you, caring for you, and loving you through it.
This prayer uses scripture and declares it over your life.
Heavenly Father, help me. I am laying ______ at the foot of the cross today. I can not do this on my own. I trust you, and when doubt creeps in, help me to trust you and lay this at your feet again. Thank you Lord for being my refuge. I believe you are working in this situation for me, even when I cannot see it. Your Word says to trust you with all my heart. I know my understanding is limited. I believe you are all-knowing and I trust you. Pour over me, Lord, with your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard my heart and my mind. Help me to rest in you alone. Thank you for fighting this battle for me and for being my Rock. Thank you for loving me and never leaving me. I believe you have good plans for me. Holy Spirit, speak to me, guide my steps today, and give me wisdom and words. Thank you for being Lord of my life and always being with me. Thank you for caring for me and loving me. I love you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
If you do not have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He is waiting for YOU! You can invite Him into your heart today.
He is a gentleman and will not force Himself on you. Salvation is a gift. There are no hoops you have to jump through and no works you have to do. You do not earn it. The price has already been paid for you by Jesus on the cross.

A Salvation prayer for you to invite Jesus to be Lord of your life.
Jesus, I want you to be Lord of my life. I invite you into my heart today. I know I am a sinner, and I ask you to forgive my sins. I want to live a new life with you. I believe you came to earth, were crucified on the cross after living a blameless life, and shed your blood for me. Three days later, I believe you conquered death and rose from the grave. I believe you have ascended to heaven, where you are preparing a place for me to live and to have eternal life with you. When you ascended to heaven, I believe you left the Holy Spirit to live in me and be my helper in this life. Lord, thank you for forgiving me of my sins. Thank you for loving me and giving me eternal life with you. Help me as I put my trust in You and walk with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
If you just prayed this prayer, we are celebrating with you!
It was the most important decision of your life.
This life goes by fast, but eternity is forever, and you just became a citizen of Heaven!!

Music is powerful.
What we listen to is powerful. Music is a universal language that is powerful enough to change your day. Music can take you back to a particular place or memory; it can stir up feelings and be emotional; it can make you happy or sad, and it can also be an act of worship. We listen to the K-Love radio station in our home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is always positive and encouraging, pointing us back to Jesus. If you have never listened to K-Love, I encourage you to listen and see how it transforms your days.
Here are a few songs I thought you might enjoy and that may be helpful today.
