Your True Identity: Who Are You In Christ Bible Verses
This post is all about your true identity on who you are in Christ based on Bible verses. It is time to stand on the unshakable truth because your worth is not up for debate. Christ gave you your true identity the moment you placed your faith in Jesus.

You stand in front of the mirror, and the voice in your head begins to play.
I am not good enough, not qualified. Not worthy of love. Not strong enough to handle this. You wonder if maybe the voice is right. But what if the loudest voice in your head is also the biggest liar?
Or could it be that you have spent most of your life trying to prove you are enough?
You work harder, achieve more, and chase people's approval, yet it is never enough. You tie your worth to your performance, appearance, relationships, and productivity. But you never feel satisfied.
What if the problem is that you have been looking in the wrong place and listening to the wrong voice?
What if your true identity was never meant to be earned, but received?
God has something to say about who you are, and it sounds nothing like the voice when you look in the mirror.
The Bible does not tell you to become someone worthy. It tells you that you already are.
Together, let's look at who you are in Christ Bible verses, and what your identity in Christ is.

The Holy Bible, God's word, is a guide for life given to you as a gift from God.
Scripture has settled the question of who you are the moment you placed your faith in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV), For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Do not just read these ‘who you are in Christ Bible verses', but believe them and stand on unshakable truth!
When you placed your faith in Jesus and invited Him into your heart, you became a new creation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT), This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Ephesians 4:24 (ESV), and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Romans 6:6 (ESV), We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
The moment you accepted Christ into your heart, your identity changed. You are not just forgiven or given eternal life, but you are a child of God. Your old self is gone. You have a new life in Christ!
Soak in those verses for a minute. If you believe in Jesus Christ and the Word of God is true, then begin today to believe not only parts of the Bible, but the entire Bible, which includes your identity.
Galatians 2:20 (ESV), I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
You are loved without condition or limit.
God loves you so much that He sent His Son to come to earth to die on the cross and shed His blood for YOU.
John 3:16-17 (NIV), For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
1 John 4:10 (NLT), This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Romans 8:38-39 (NIV), For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV), The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
Ephesians 3:17-19 (NLT), Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
The enemy wants you to believe the lies you see when you look in the mirror, that God's love is conditional. God's love is not a reward for good behavior or proving your worth. His love for you is anchored in what Christ did on the cross and His resurrection. You are not earning your way to be loved. Christ already paid the price for you. Start living like someone who is cherished beyond measure. YOU are LOVED!
You are chosen and called.
Ephesians 1:4-5 (NLT), Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV), But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light
Colossians 3:12 (NLT), Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
John 15:16 (ESV), You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
You are chosen and deeply loved.

You are forgiven and free from condemnation.
Romans 8:1-2 (ESV), There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Colossians 2:13 (NLT), You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.
1 John 1:9 (KJV), If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Psalms 103:12 (NLT), He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
Ephesians 1:7 (ESV), In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
The enemy wants you to live in constant guilt and make you believe you are not enough, or to continually remind you of your past.
There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. God does not keep a record of your failures. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, shed His blood on the cross for you. The price for your sins has been paid. You are forgiven.

You are secure with God.
John 10:28-29 (NLT), I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.
Philippians 1:6 (NLT), And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Romans 8:35-39 (NLT), Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Eyes on Jesus and know you are held and secure with God.
You are justified and made righteous.
Romans 5:1 (NLT), Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Romans 3:23-24 (NLT), We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT), For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
Ephesians 2:6 (ESV), and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus
Because of what Jesus did on the cross, you are not just forgiven but also justified and made right with God. Your identity changes when you fully understand this.
The Holy Spirit empowers you.
Romans 8:11 (NKJV), But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT), But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Ephesians 1:13 (NIV), And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
Acts 1:8 (NIV), But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
John 15:1 (NIV), “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
John 15:5 (NIV), “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
The Lord knew that we could not live this life on our own. So, when Jesus ascended to heaven, He left us a helper, the Holy Spirit. When you accept Jesus as your personal Savior, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in your heart. The Holy Spirit will transform you from the inside out. The power of the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you! Wow!
You are a child of God.

John 1:12-13 (NLT), But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
Romans 8:15-16 (NLT), So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
Romans 8:17 (NIV), Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Galatians 3:26 (NIV), So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith

Your true identity is not from this world.

How to anchor your mind in your true identity.

It takes intentional effort to train your mind. Your mind will need constant reminders of who you are and to change your thinking pattern.
1. Pray and read scripture.
Allow the Holy Spirit to do a work in you and change your perception from the inside out.
2. Write down Bible verses that say who you are in Christ.
Put them where you can see them. Learn them. When you begin to doubt, declare those Bible verses over you.
3. Replace lies with truth.
When your mind begins to tell you lies. Speak the verses out loud. When you begin to feel, I am not enough. Replace it with Philippians 4:13 (NLT), For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
I once had that verse written everywhere, so I could be reminded of it continually, until I believed it. Replace those lies with one truth at a time. When you stand on the truth, your life will change.
I challenge you today to begin to stand on truth. God's truth, and that includes who you are in Christ, Bible verses.
