5 Powerful Faith Examples Of Trusting God In the Bible
This post is all about powerful examples of trusting God in the Bible and how these Biblical examples teach what faith looks like and how you can apply it to your life today.
God's word, the Holy Bible, is a historical book left to us as a gift from God, a handbook and guide for life. The examples of trusting God in the Bible are real-life people who followed God's plan with extraordinary faith, and how the history of the world was forever changed.
There are countless examples of trusting God in the Bible. Let's look at 5 of them together.

Maybe you are walking through a tough time in your life right now and searching. You have come to the right place.
Sometimes in life, you feel like you are at the bottom of a pit, and can only look up and ask for God's help. It is in these darkest moments that I have learned to trust in God, and my faith has grown.
Hebrews 13:8 (NIV), “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
As you read this and walk through your day, rest in this: Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His character does not change.
Also, keep in mind that the examples of trusting God in the Bible are ordinary people with extraordinary faith because they did not yet have the gift of the entire Bible! They were the historical examples we have to read about! WOW! Now that is surrender, and true faith!
God is faithful.
Examples of trusting God in the Bible are ordinary people with impossible situations who stood on God's promise.
1. One of the examples of trusting God in the Bible is Mary, the mother of Jesus.
The birth of Christ is celebrated at Christmas, but how many times do you think about the mother of Jesus, Mary?

An ordinary teenage girl put her complete faith and trust in God alone. This changed history, and humanity.
This happened in a time when culture was not like today's. She was a young girl with a pregnancy out of wedlock. She could have been stoned to death, gossiped about, her family's reputation ruined, and Joseph, the man she planned to marry, could have rejected her.
It is hard for me to even wrap my mind around what she experienced and how she felt.
Luke 1:30-33 (NIV), “But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
Luke 1:34:38 (NIV), “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.
This young teenage girl is what true faith is. The story of Mary begins in Luke 1.
2. Another one of the examples of trusting God in the Bible is David.
The story of David is of a young teenage boy who put his complete trust in the Lord to fight not only a giant, but a man who had been in training for war since his youth.
David was a shepherd boy who knew that God was faithful even in his impossible situations while tending his sheep.
When everyone else feared the Giant Goliath, David took action.
1 Samuel 17:45 (NIV), “David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
David put his complete trust in God and killed the giant.
1 Samuel 17 is where you can read about David and Goliath.
3. Moses is another familiar example of trusting God in the Bible.
Exodus 3:1 (NIV), “Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.”

Exodus 3:2-10 (NIV), “There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire, it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
Can you even imagine what Moses thought when he had this encounter, and then to hear that the Lord wanted to use him! The Lord told him to go to Pharaoh and rescue the slaves from Egypt and lead them to the promised land.
Exodus 3:11-14 (NIV), But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “ I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘ I am has sent me to you.’
Moses continues talking with God and begins to find excuses why he should not be the one, for example:
Exodus 6:12 (NLT), “But LORD!” Moses objected. “My own people won’t listen to me anymore. How can I expect Pharaoh to listen? I’m such a clumsy speaker!”
Although Moses tried to make excuses and was not eager to do what he was asked, Moses trusted God because he knew He was real and His promises were clear.
In the Old Testament, in the book of Exodus, you can read about Moses, the ten plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and all Moses went through as he trusted God.
4. Daniel in the Lion's Den is another example of trusting God in the Bible.
Can you imagine being faced with a den of hungry lions?

Daniel 6:23 (NIV), “The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
It was because of Daniel's faith and His trust in God that the lions' mouths were shut and he was safe.
In the book of Daniel, Chapter 6, you can read the full story of Daniel and the den of lions.
5. The story of Peter stepping out of the boat.
You may have seen those pictures of Peter in a boat, in rough water, stepping out to meet Jesus.
Can you imagine what the other disciples thought when Peter asked to do the impossible, to walk on the water to meet Jesus? The story is not about Peter sinking; it is about Peter trusting God and having faith, and about him physically getting out of the boat to meet Jesus.
Matthew 14:28-32 (NIV), “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
This is a reminder to keep your eyes on Jesus and not on things in this world. This also teaches us about our faith, even Peter, who had Jesus right in front of him, doubted; it is human nature. It is simply a matter of the heart to believe, trust God, and have faith.
There is only one perfect man who walked this earth, and it is Christ Jesus.
So give yourself grace when you doubt, then surrender and give it back to the Lord, and trust Him!
There are so many Bible Stories of people we read about who God used to show His unfailing love and faithfulness.
It is because of their true faith in God that they trusted and experienced God's power.
How can you apply these examples of trusting God in the Bible to your life today?
The Word of God is God's wisdom of great promises for you and me. We have a gift of the Bible that has been handed down for generations.
All the Lord asks us is to trust in Him alone. It is simple trust.

When you keep a heavenly perspective, it changes how you live your life.
If you are struggling to surrender it all to the Lord, you can simply pray.
Lord, I need you. Please help me to trust you. In Jesus name, Amen
Here are three favorite Bible Verses that were sweet reminders to me to trust in God when life felt uncertain.
Maybe they'll be helpful to you as well.
1. Proverbs 3:5-6
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV), “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
This is a familiar Bible verse for many of you, but when you fully surrender and put your complete trust in the Lord, it will change your life.
It was this verse that I learned and prayed daily over my kids and my life. It became my life verse.
I was raised in a Christian home and went to church nearly every Sunday, but it was not until I went through difficult times in my mid-thirties that I learned who God is and how to put my complete trust in Him alone. That season helped me realize the importance of a ‘personal relationship', which I had been missing. Since I was raised in a Christian home, I knew about God and knew He was a God of Hope, but I never had a ‘personal relationship' with Him. I was a girl going through the motions and trying to do the ‘right thing.'
The more I searched for Him, the more I prayed, the more I trusted Him, the more my faith grew. I would never want to walk through that season again, but I am forever grateful that the Lord used the bad and turned it to good. Now, the first thing I want to do when something happens is to go to the Lord.
2. Matthew 6:26

Matthew 6:26 (NIV), “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
If the Lord cared about even a little bird, of course, He cares for you. Believe and trust Him.
What I learned was that when I fully surrendered and gave it all to Jesus, trust began. I knew that I could not do it on my own, but I needed a Savior, and that was the only place I would find perfect peace.
3. Philippians 4:13
Philippians 4:13 (NIV), “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
This verse got me through many days and reminded me to trust God.
Looking back, the Lord was there with me all along. He is faithful. I have felt a peace that surpasses all understanding and a joy no one can take away.
As difficult as it was to walk through those tough times, I am forever grateful because it changed my relationship with Christ to a ‘personal relationship' and it made an eternal difference in my life.
I pray you can put your complete trust in the Lord. He will never let you down!
He will use bad for good and become your everything.
Are YOU ready to put your trust in Jesus Christ today?
The power of the Holy Spirit lives in you when you ask Jesus to live in your heart.
What do you have to lose? Friend, you have everything to gain when you put your complete trust in God alone.
Historically, we have countless examples of trusting God in the Bible. Today, I am living proof of how my life was changed, and you do not have to look far to see countless others whose lives have been changed.
The good news is you can come as you are. You, too, can have a life that will be changed from the inside out.
Someday you will look back and think, “How did I ever get through my day without the Lord?”
The love of God is real.
There are no magic words. You do not have to do any steps to get to the Lord. He already paid the price for you and shed His blood on the cross for your sins. All the Lord asks is for you to put your complete trust in Him and have faith.

A prayer for you to trust God and invite Jesus into your heart.
Heavenly Father, please forgive me of my sins. I know I am a sinner, and I come to you as I am. I want to put my trust in You alone. I believe you came to earth and lived a blameless life, were crucified on the cross, and shed your blood for me and my sins. After three days, you rose from the grave and conquered death. You ascended to heaven, where you are preparing a place for me to have eternal life. I believe You will come again. I want to live my life for you and put my trust in you alone. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Music is powerful.
Music is everywhere in scripture, and for me, it is powerful. You can listen to Christian radio or worship songs, and your outlook for the day can change. We always have K-Love radio playing in our home, and it is what it says, ‘positive and encouraging.'
Here are a few songs that I enjoy. I thought I would share them in case you have not heard of them about trust.
Trust In God by Elevation Worship (feat. Chris Brown and Isaiah Templeton)
More Than Able by Elevation Worship (feat. Chandler Moore and Tiffany Hudson)
This song reminds me that Jesus was and is with me. He is faithful, so trust Him.
