21 Powerful Bible Verses About Storms Of Life
This post is designed to help guide you when life gets hard, including Bible verses about storms of life. Together, we will look at Bible verses on overcoming the storms of life. Peace in the midst of the storm and finally blessings after the storm.
If you are in one of life's storms, you are not alone. Come, sit with me, get comfortable, and let's examine God's word together.

John 16:33 (NIV), “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
The storm will be different for each of us, but the outcome is the same. You know that uncertain and turbulent times are ahead. So, what do you do?
Stand on the promises of God.
Bible verses on overcoming the storms of life and allow God's truth to be your guide.
I have walked through tough times and uncertain times, and from my experience, there is only one thing to do. Root yourself in Christ Jesus and put on the full Armor of God. If you are unsure what exactly the Armor of God is, I encourage you to read Ephesians 6:10-20.
Put on your Armor. Then, stand on God's promises.
Believe with your whole heart that the Lord will not leave you or forsake you.
Pray.
Talk to God and have peace that only you can get from the Lord. A peace that surpasses all understanding.
Exodus 14:14 (NIV), “The Lord will fight for you; you only need to be still.”
For me, Jesus has picked me up out of the pit. He has orchestrated events for good in the midst of life's great storm. The Lord has walked beside me and carried me during difficult times. He has restored my soul when it was shattered. Jesus has given me hope. He has been my friend when I have felt all alone. He has comforted me and held me.
When life gets rough, here are some of the best Bible verses that will help you navigate life's storms.
These Bible verses have helped me and sustained me during life's storms. My prayer is that these Bible verses will have the same impact on you.
Psalm 37:7 (NLT), “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”
In this world, let's call it as it is, people can be mean or downright evil. As you know, sometimes, no matter what you say to defend yourself, it may get turned around.
As a Christian, you live for an audience of One, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.
So, when people scheme, put on your armor of God and pray. The Holy Spirit will guide you. Let's look at this powerful Bible verse again: “Be still in the presence of the Lord. Wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” When you do this, you will experience peace. It is a perfect peace that you can not explain. It is a peace that is only from the Lord.
Mark 11:25 (NIV), “ And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Let the Lord fight your battle.
The Bible tells us in John 10:10 (NIV), “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Satan is working hard to distract you and hurt you. You may think it is against that person, but it is against the unseen world.
When you continue to seek the Lord, the Lord will do the fighting for you. Be patient. Wait and watch.
Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV), “For he himself said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
The Lord promises that He will not leave you nor forsake you.
When you look back on a storm of life, you can see God's fingerprints through it all. This is often when he presses you down and transforms you into the person you were meant to be.
When tragedy strikes, you can always count on one thing that never wavers: the Lord's steadfast love and His faithfulness.
I look back at the most devastating time in my life. That was when I learned to lean into the Lord. I let Him be my everything. It was when He carried me. “When the Lord Carried Me” is a book I wrote about my testimony. My world shattered into a million pieces, and with the Lord's help, I was able to stand back up. My life was changed. God was faithful and God was good. When you have an encounter with Jesus, your perspective and life will be changed.
Although life can be difficult, God is faithful.
Psalm 23 (NKJV), “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
Matthew 11:28 (NIV), “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV), “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
It always amazes me how the Lord is always so faithful and how much undeserved grace He gives. When you are in a storm of life, no matter what that storm is, seek Him. You will find Him when your heart is genuinely postured in faith. You live your life in a way that pleases God. The Lord wants our entire heart, every corner of it. When you seek Him, you will find Him. He will give you rest.
With the Lord, you will find peace in the midst of the storm.

2 Corinthians 13:11 (KJV), “…The love of God and peace shall be with you.”
If you are reading this and you are not a believer, I know how foreign this might sound. Before I had my encounter with the Lord, I was going through the motions of a Christian life. I heard “The love of God and peace shall be with you” multiple times. Yet, I never really understood it. It is a love and a peace that is hard to put into words. It does not make sense, but you will know it when you feel it. I am forever grateful for God's goodness and faithfulness.
Psalm 29:11 (NIV), “The Lord gives strength to his people: the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV), “I can do all this through Christ who strengthens me.”
Everything in your life can be shaking all around you.
I have no idea what you're going through, but with Christ, you will get through it.
Some days, I would have been a ball on the floor or still lying in bed, unable to move forward. Friend, if this is you. Get up, keep moving, and keep your eyes on Jesus.
I realize that I am where I am today because of the Holy Spirit's guidance. The Lord showed me the way.
The power of God that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. When you have the Holy Spirit within you, you hold power that is not human. This strength comes only from God.
Seek Him. Trust Him. He will give you peace in the midst of the storm that you will find nowhere else in this world.
Difficult times are hard, but keep looking up, keep the faith and your eyes on Jesus.

Luke 1:37 (NKJV), “For with God nothing will be impossible.”
No one said life would be easy. Life can be very challenging at times, and you will undoubtedly face difficult moments.
However, with God, nothing is impossible, and you will persevere through this. You may have tried to figure it out on your own, and chances are it is not working out for you. I challenge you to lay it all at the foot of the cross and see God work.
Rely upon His strength.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (NLT), “3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NLT), “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
When you find yourself in a difficult situation, lean into God's power.
With Christ, you are always in a safe place.
His righteous right hand will reach down and pick you up. He might even carry you.
The Son of God is always there for you. He is present in the good times and in the midst of the storms of life.
The Lord will comfort you. He knows your heart.
Jesus already paid the price for you on the cross.
Keep seeking the Lord and pray.

The Lord wants you to talk to Him. Allow the Lord to be your best friend. When you get through this storm, you will see His fingerprints all over your life.
When you pray to Him, ask him for His comfort, His peace, His joy, and His help.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV), “6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV), “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” This has been my life verse. I would pray this over and over, proclaiming this verse over my life and my kids. I have it hidden in my heart along with other powerful bible verses. If you are not currently walking through a storm, be prepared and ready for that storm of life to come. Allow the Lord to come into your heart and be that hiding place for you. Let Him be your shelter and your everything.
Psalm 62:2 (NIV), “Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
After the storm, there will be sunshine again. There will be blessing after the storm.

You will look back and see the Lord was walking with you all along.
Romans 5:3-5 (ESV), “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
When I went through the most devastating storm in my life. I wasn't sure how I was going to navigate it. I felt like I was gut-punched. My world was turned upside down. My husband told me one night he was gay. This was the man I loved for 20 years and the father of our three kids. The life and family we created I loved beyond words. Suddenly, I had nowhere to turn except to God. I learned to trust God, and He was there with me. This is When the Lord Carried Me. I learned a lot walking through that storm. One of the biggest lessons I learned is the goodness of God. Jesus is real and He is with me always.
Romans 8:28 (NIV), “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Even in a great storm of life, God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

He never promised life would be easy. However, he did promise that He would be there with you. He has good plans for you.
I encourage you and challenge you to grow a closer relationship with the Lord. Trust Him. Pray to Him. Rest in Him.
To grow a closer relationship with the Lord and to seek Him is not only about being rooted in God's word. It is also about surrounding yourself with community. If you don't have a church home or can not attend in person, there are online churches available. Life.church is a place where you can find community and a fantastic place to get connected.
Christian music is also a powerful way to be reminded of God's truths. K-Love radio is a radio station that encourages you and points you to Jesus. When you are in one of life's storms, there are many powerful songs. A song called Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham is one of those songs.
When you face storms of life, the only way is to stand on the Word of God.

Trust and believe.
Not just to know there is a God, but to know in your heart who God is.
He is faithful. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His Word, the Holy Bible, tells us repeatedly in Scripture that His power and resources are available to you.
Hebrews 13:8 (NLT), “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Jesus has changed my life. He has reshaped the way I think. He is my Lord in the good times and the hard times. The Lord is my calm in the storm. He is my shelter. When everything around me is shaking, I can rest in Him. He is my peace.
Which Bible verse will you choose to proclaim over your life when life gets rough?
Hide it in your heart and be prepared for the unexpected. It just might change your life!
If you have had one of those God moments, be reminded of how God got you through it. He is faithful and will do it again for you. Seek Him. Pray. He has got you and will take care of you!
When you feel like you have little faith, open up your heart. He is a God that is available to everyone, but it is a choice that only you can make. BUT, when you genuinely invite Him into your heart, you will feel His presence and love like never before. Your life will be transformed from the inside out.
Jesus loves You and is right beside you. Trust Him.

When you open up your heart to the creator, He will change your life! So, hold on to your seat! You will feel the peace of God that you can not explain.
There are all kinds of storms in life. We have all walked through them. It seems in life, we are either in the middle of a storm, coming out of a storm, or getting ready to walk through one again. Oftentimes, when we wake up, we have no idea a storm is coming. It is best to be prepared and have a plan in place. When you're not in the midst of life's storms, embrace it and savor the moment.
If you are not sure who Jesus is and want to get to know Him, invite Him into your heart.
When you pray, you have a conversation like you would with a friend.
A prayer for you to invite Jesus into your heart.
Dear Lord,
I want to know you, and I want you to live in my heart. I know I am a sinner, and I am not perfect. I come to you as I am. Jesus, I want to be transformed to be more like you. I believe you came to Earth and lived a blameless life. You were crucified on the cross. Three days later, you rose from the grave. You conquered death and made a way for me to have eternal life. Jesus, forgive me of my sins. Thank you for dying for me. Thank you for preparing a place for me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for being my Lord and Savior.
Amen

When you are in the storms of life, a prayer for you.
Lord,
Sometimes I don't understand life and why it's so hard. Please help me and guide me through this season. I want to feel you near me. Wash over me with your perfect peace. Wrap me in your love. Lord, rain over me with your goodness and comfort me. Please help me to trust you when I fall short. You are a good God, and I want to rest in You alone.
Help me to start my day with intention and pray before my feet hit the floor. Fill me up with your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit speak to me. Hold me. Show me the way, Lord, and guide me. I need you. I need your strength. Lord, thank you for loving me. Thank you for your faithfulness and your goodness. Thank you for always being there. Help me remember to call on your name first, before anyone else. Thank you in advance for carrying me through this rough season of life. I need you, Jesus. I love you, Jesus.
Amen
As I said earlier, Christian music is powerful. Here is another song that I pray over you, it is called “In Jesus Name (God of Possible)” by Kate Nichole.
All the days of my life, I want to share the good news and give a testimony of Christ Jesus. I pray that you have God experiences and an encounter with the power of Christ. Be a testimony of Jesus Christ of how God has touched and changed you, someone might just be waiting to hear your story.
Who is Jesus to you? If you are unsure, please do your research. Open your heart and mind to a living God who can change your life. Honestly, what do you have to lose?
This post was designed to help you be better prepared. Bible verses about storms of life to have in your heart while navigating life's storms.
