This post is powerful Bible Verses about God's goodness to help remind you of His truth and be prepared when in doubt. Our stories are all different, but the goodness of God remains the same.

Could it be that today you feel like the Lord has forgotten about you? Even though your situation may feel unclear or unfair, God is walking with you. God is good.

Get something to drink, relax for a few minutes, and allow me to share some time with you today about God's goodness.

Bible Verses about God's Goodness

Our stories are all unique, but the goodness of the Lord remains the same.

I share this with you because of what I learned. Until I walked through a devastating season of my life, I had only heard about God. It was during this time that I experienced God's powerful presence firsthand, the goodness of God.

My husband, whom I loved, left our three kids and me to pursue a different lifestyle. Like all married couples, you get married, have a family, and think it is forever. Well, for me, not the case.

Now, I am suddenly trying to raise my innocent kids to the best of my ability and navigate all unfamiliar territory. At times, I felt like I was existing and going through the motions. Sometimes, I felt close to God—other times, not so much. Life was hard.

My mom would tell me. I do not think you will ever get married again. I kept men at arm's length. Not wanting to get too close because I might get hurt again. But in my heart, I knew that I wanted to share my life with someone and be married again.

I prayed, and at times, many times, I would cry out to God. I often did not even know what to say because my heart had been shattered into a million pieces. Sobbing to my Lord. I could not understand why God would take away from me the one thing I loved the most—my family. Why me? I kept thinking to myself, Where are you, God?

As I write this to share with you, I feel a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. God is so good. If I had not gone through that time in my life, I honestly do not know if I would have realized the true goodness of God.

I would not want to go through it again, but I am thankful. I believe with all my heart that this time in my life made an eternal difference.

The goodness of God.

I could go on and on about how the Lord showed up during this season.

The details ranged from securing a job that worked around my schedule with my kids, to receiving a surprise card in the mail with just enough money to pay a bill due that day, to meals brought over unexpectedly when I didn't know what to feed my kids. God was in the details of our lives over and over.  God was never early or late. He always showed up on time.

God sent the ultimate perfect gift to my kids and me. A man who chased after Jesus. A man I could not have prayed for because I did not realize such a man existed. He was much more than I could have dreamed up. This man is now my husband, and I am so thankful for him every day. When the Lord Carried Me is a book about this season of my life. It is my testimony to God. How I was so broken, but how God took my broken pieces and helped me stand back up again.

Bible Verses about God's Goodness

I am in AWE of God's goodness.

15 Powerful Bible verses about God's goodness.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NTL), “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

When you accept Christ Jesus into your life, there will be evidence. You will have the fruit of the Spirit. You will no longer have that void in your heart. You will have a heart that feels love as you have never experienced it. A joy that nothing can shake or take away. Peace that you can not explain. The Lord will change you from the inside out with patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are only some of the good gifts our Heavenly Father will give you!

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV), “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

You, like me, will have a day of trouble or a season of hard times. Hold on tight to the word of God. God will not abandon you. He is there with you.

James 1:17 (NIV), “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

The Lord did not promise life would be easy. But He did promise He would be with us when we walk through challenging times. That is the goodness of God!

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV), “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Psalm 19:1-4 (NLT), “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.”

Bible Verses about God's Goodness

“The skies display his craftsmanship.” He creates a beautiful sun rise each morning to begin our day and gives us another spectacular show in the evening. The riches of His kindness are never-ending.

Psalm 145:9 (NIV), “The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.”

The goodness of God is all around you when you take time to look.

I challenge you to stop and look around today and observe the goodness of God that He has created for you to enjoy. It could be as simple as a flower, a beautiful bird that plays a song for you, or colors from creation that can not be duplicated. Maybe it is God's provision in your life or His faithfulness and mercy.

He has provided so much beauty that we often forget to enjoy the simple yet powerful things in life. Fill your hearts with gratitude and thankfulness. Give thanks for the good gifts and all the goodness of the Lord.

Psalm 23:6 (NIV), “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

1 John 4:15 (NKJV), “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.”

Proverbs 30:5 (NKJV), “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”

Ahh, soak in God's word.

What promises!

God's goodness!

Romans 8:28 (NKJV), “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

You might feel like God has forgotten you.

Trust Him, stand on His promises, and witness the evidence of God.

Bible Verses about God's Goodness

All things work together for good to those who love God!

He is working behind the scenes for you even when you are sleeping.

Talk to Him.

Pray to Him.

Believe.

Have Faith.

He will work things out for the good. Remember, it isn't in our timing; it is in the Lord's time.

Luke 19:10 (NIV), “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

I encourage you to read Luke 19 about Zacchaeus, the tax collector. It is a very short but powerful story. It is about a man who wasn't liked. We know this because he was a tax collector, a profession not well-liked in those days. He wanted to see the Lord, so he ran. I am sure that in those days, wealthy men did not run. He was short, so he climbed a tree. How often do you see men climb trees!? So, he ran and climbed a tree to see who Jesus was. As Jesus passed under the tree, Jesus looked up and told Zacchaeus to come down because he wanted to stay with him! Jesus chose him! Not only did Jesus choose him, but He called him by name!

Like Zacchaeus, it does not matter what you have done or how messy your life is. You do not have to have a perfect life. God wants you to come just as you are. Jesus knows the details. He knows your name and calls you by it, not by what you have done. Jesus knows everything about you and still loves you. Jesus only wants you to seek Him. WOW! That is the goodness of God.

Ephesians 6:10-17 (NLT), “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

It is vital in our daily lives that we put on the whole armor of God. God doesn't just leave us hanging. He gives us a handbook, the word of God, the Holy Bible, because of God's faithful love for you. This will help you and show you how to live life to the fullest.

God's goodness is everywhere when we stop, pause, and look.

Bible Verses about God's Goodness

Not only is the Lord kind, loving, and faithful, but He leaves us with the gift of eternal life! God came to earth as a man, Jesus Christ, to seek and save the lost! He wants you to seek after him just as you are.

He already paid the price for your and my sins on the cross.

You were created to have a relationship with Him. He longs to have a relationship with you!

He was crucified after living a sinless life but conquered death, rose again, and left us the Holy Spirit to live in us when he ascended to heaven to prepare a place for all believers. He left us His word and a helper! God's goodness!

John 3:16 (NKJV), “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit will come to reside inside your heart. The love of God will change you from the inside out. He wants good things for you.

Psalm 34:8 (NIV), “Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

It is not a religion of man-made rules; It is about a personal relationship with the Creator, Jesus Christ.

You do not have to do good works to get to heaven. He has already paid the price for you.

Come as you are, love God, love people, and leave the rest to God. He has got you in the palm of His hand and will not leave or forsake you. God is love, and love never fails

Psalm 100:5 (NIV), “For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Bible Verses about God's Goodness

If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, all you need to do is invite Him into your heart by saying a simple prayer.

Lord, I know I am a sinner. I believe you came to earth, lived a sinless life, were crucified, and three days later rose from the grave and conquered death. You are preparing a place for me in heaven. I want to live for you. I want you to be the Lord of my life. Forgive my sins. Thank you for loving me as I am. Fill me up with your Spirit. Guide my steps and keep me from evil. Lord, I want to see your goodness every day. I do not want to miss a single blessing you have for me. I want to feel your presence and your love. Thank you, Lord. I love you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

My friend, God's love is real. Stand on God's promises. I know God's kindness is more than I deserve. In times of trouble, the mighty hand of God will reach down and pull you up out of your pit and help you stand again! God will take your situation and transform you into a living testimony. I am living proof of that. I would not be here right now, sharing, if I had not seen and experienced how awesome our God is!

Listening to worship music is powerful. Once you experience the goodness of God, you will be changed. Goodness of God by CeCe Winans is one of these songs.

Here is a song that has spoken to my heart,  Still Waters (Psalm 23), by Leanna Crawford. Worship songs and scripture are powerful!

A prayer for you

Lord, I thank you for today. I thank you for giving me the beauty of your creation. I thank you for your goodness. Help me to trust you when I doubt. Guide my steps today. Put a shield of protection around me and keep me from evil. Lord, fill me up with your Spirit so I can pour out your goodness today over others. Wrap your arms around me and pour over me your peace, truth, and love. Help me not to miss a single blessing you have for me today. I love you, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.

God's faithfulness, unfailing love, and tender mercies are all the riches of His goodness.
