15 Benefits Of Prayer When You Pray Daily With Faith
This post is all about the benefits of prayer in your daily life when combined with God's word and faith. When you combine prayer with God's word it will transform your life. You will develop a stronger relationship with the Lord and with others around you.
You read about prayer, you talk about prayer, you go to church and pray, you may even go to a prayer group or pray with friends, but how often do you spend time alone, in private, with the Lord?
Jesus is waiting to hear from you. He wants a personal relationship. Jesus has already paid the price for you and me and shed His blood on the cross. He has already done all the work.
I encourage you to begin today to spend more time with the Lord, and you will witness the benefits of prayer when you pray with faith.
Together, let's look at 15 benefits of prayer when you pray daily with faith.

Our prayer life all looks different. You may have grown up in church, prayed before meals, been in prayer groups, and prayed with friends, but it is in the quiet times that prayer life becomes personal that your life will be changed, and you will experience the benefits of prayer.
I do not know what your prayer life looks like, but it wasn't until I walked through a devastating season that my prayer life became personal. During that time, I developed a ‘personal relationship' with the Lord.
The pastor who counseled me during this season guided me, continually pointing me to Jesus.
He would tell me, before your feet hit the ground, start the day off in prayer.
I do not know if you pray before your feet hit the floor, but I challenge you to begin your day with prayer and see how it changes your day and life.
Psalm 5:3 (NIV), “In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”

Psalm 118:24 (ESV), “This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
When you begin your day with prayer, your focus begins with the Lord, with your eyes on Jesus.
As the day progresses, Jesus is the first one to run to and talk to.
I learned that prayer life needs to be intentional, and as I spent time with the Lord in my quiet time and in God's word, it changed my life.
Prayer time is a private time. A time you begin to treasure.
Prayer is powerful when prayed with faith. I have witnessed the benefits and power of prayer.
Prayer has changed my life, and my prayer is that it will change yours.
The 15 benefits of daily prayer will have a profound impact on your life.
You might think that there is a magic formula to prayer. Prayer does not come from head knowledge, and there are no magic words. It is simple, you talk to the Lord.
The Lord wants your heart. He created you and already knows what you need. He wants your prayer to be real, personal, and for you to have faith.
1. One of the most important benefits of prayer is that you develop a ‘personal relationship' with Jesus Christ.
The first and most important prayer is the prayer of Salvation when you invite Jesus to live in your heart.
Romans 10:9-10 (NIV), “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
James 1:6 (NLT), “But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”
After you invite Jesus into your heart and you spend time alone with Jesus, you develop a ‘personal relationship' with the Lord.
Spending time with the Lord is no different than spending time with a friend.
The more time you spend, the more the relationship grows and deepens.
John 10:27 (NIV), “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Matthew 6:6 (ESV), “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
If you are skeptical about prayer, I encourage you to seek the Lord with all your heart, trust Him, and talk to the Lord as if He were your friend. You will see that your relationship will grow over time. You will witness the power of prayer. Your life will be changed.
2. Another one of the benefits of prayer is being in the presence of God.
When you have Christ in you, and you pray, you are not alone. You can feel His presence.
You may be in a hard season right now and searching. I encourage you to pray about whatever is going on in your life.
I really never understood this until I went through an incredibly difficult time in my life.
Before this, my Christian walk was how I was raised, something I did.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV), “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
During this season, I would cry out to God from my gut, with gut-wrenching sobs: why me, and where are you, Lord?
Why would a good God do something like this to me!?
Day after day, I sobbed and cried to the Lord. Prayed and prayed, and it was during this time that the Lord became real, became my everything. I felt the presence of the Lord.
As time passed, I learned that I was not alone in this season.
It was then that I realized that God is good. He did not leave me. He was right with me in the trenches. Helping me, guiding me, and loving me.
I challenge you to have private time with the Lord, just you and Him. You will begin to feel His presence. Your heart will begin to change, and He will be the first one in times of need that you will want to call on when you are struggling. And He will be the first one you will go to with a thankful heart and say, ‘Thank you, Jesus.'
To rest in the presence of the Lord is a gift.
John 14:6 (NIV), Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
3. When you pray, you fill a void in your heart that can not be filled with things of this world or other relationships.
In this world, there are lots of different gods. Maybe you are searching to fill that void in your heart.
But friend, there is nothing in this world that will fill what you are searching for like the love of Jesus Christ.
When you study religions, the Christian religion is the only one with a living, relational God. It is the only one that has historical evidence.
The Christian faith is the only one that believes that God has sent His Son into the world to save it.
His name is Jesus Christ. There is no god or higher power greater than Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT), “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
He alone, the Holy Spirit, will fill the void in your heart. All He asks is for you to go to Him and believe.
You do not have to do steps to get to Him. Jesus Christ has shed His blood on the cross for you and me.
He was crucified, rose from the grave three days later, ascended to heaven, and left us the Holy Spirit to take His place until HIs return.
Again, all historical evidence.
The Holy Bible is the living, breathing word of God. It has integrity and speaks the truth. It is the only book that prophesies, predicts, and fulfills future events. There is nothing in this world that compares to the Word of God and prayer.
Jesus is chasing after you. He is perfect and Holy.
John 10:10 (NIV), “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Jeremiah 29:12 (NIV), “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”
4. You gain an understanding that you are never alone when you pray.
When you invite Jesus into your heart, you can feel Him there. He walks with you throughout your day.
James 4:8 (NIV), “Come near to God and he will come near to you…”
Psalms 145:18 (NIV), “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”
Matthew 28:20 (NIV), “… I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Hebrews 13:5 (NIV), “…“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Life might be hard, a lot of life is hard, and no place promised life would be easy.
But when you have Jesus, the Holy Spirit is right there with you.
You will feel the presence of the Lord. Hard to explain, but you will know that you are not alone. He is faithful.
5. You have a joy that lives inside of you that no man can take.
This benefit of prayer comes from praying and having a personal relationship with Christ.
John 16:22 (NIV), “So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”
Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV), “…This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Psalm 5:11 (NLT), “But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.”
The joy of the Lord is something that I would hear, but really never understood until I grew in my personal relationship with the Lord.
I want that joy for you.
Now, I know that I have a joy in my heart that no man can take away, no matter what happens in this world.
6. When you pray and call on the Lord, you have a peace that surpasses all understanding.
You have the peace of God that you can not explain when everything around you is uncertain.
If you feel chaos or uncertainty in your life, I encourage you to go to the Lord and pray. You will feel His presence and His peace.
Over and over, when I have called on the Lord, I would feel His presence and His peace. I cannot explain it; I can only tell you God is real. It truly is a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV), “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
You might find that worship songs are helpful during a time of uncertainty and you need peace. When I say Jesus by life. church worship is my go-to song when I begin to feel chaos or uncertainty in my life. I almost instantly feel God's presence and a peace pours over me when this song plays.
7. A benefit of prayer is that you have the Holy Spirit that lives inside you and guides you.
You hear the voice of God. You have God's help and will witness God's power.
You may not have the full picture yet, but you will have enough light to move forward with the next step.
Psalms 119:105 (NIV), “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
This website is a perfect example of this in my life. I know I'm supposed to share my testimony, but I am not tech-savvy. I had absolutely no idea how to build a website, knew nothing about blogging, and the internet world was like a foreign language to me.
I would pray about it continually, and continually the Lord would show me the next step. He orchestrated what I needed to do at that moment.
I still don't have the entire picture of what this journey will look like, but I do know that God is faithful and is with me every step of the way when I go to Him in prayer.
Romans 8:26 (NIV), “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
Another example of this was after days and weeks of crying out to the Lord, right before I became a single mom of three. It was crystal clear that the Lord would take care of my kids and me. Over and over, the Lord provided for us.
A benefit of prayer was that the Holy Spirit became my guide in such uncertain territory. The Lord will be your guide when you put your trust in Him alone, have faith, and believe.
8. When you are tempted and pray, you will have a way out.
Matthew 26:41 (NIV), “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV), “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
The Lord will always have an escape route for you, a way out when you find yourself tempted. It is up to you to choose the way out. He provides a way, but you can not give in to it. Chose to escape.
9. A benefit of Prayer is to keep Satan away.
Satan is the ruler of this world, and prayer is our line of defense against the unseen world.
The Apostle Paul instructs us each day to put on the whole armor of God.
Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV), “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
10. Pray and seek the will of God, and you will be blessed.
The best place to be in life is to be right in the middle of God's will.
1 John 5:14-15 (NIV), “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

John 14:13-14 (ESV), “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
Matthew 7:7 (NIV), “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Mark 11:24 (NIV), “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Matthew 7:9-11 (NIV), “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
His plans are so much bigger than what you can comprehend. He has good plans for you. When you believe, have faith, trust Him, and pray.
11. A benefit of prayer is that you can have intercessory prayer for others.
It does not cost you any money, and you can do it anywhere. What a privilege it is to pray for someone.
If you would like prayer, it would be an honor to pray for you. Please go to my Rooted In Prayer page and fill out the form provided.
James 5:16 (NIV), “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
Matthew 6:33 (ESV), “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV), “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
12. It was not God's plan for you to carry the burdens of this world.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT), “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
Luke 22:42 (NIV), “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
You do not need to carry all of your worries in this life. Surrender and go to the Lord in prayer.
Lay your burdens down at the cross one at a time.
You were not built to carry the burdens of this world.
Psalms 55:22 (NIV), “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
13. A benefit of prayer is the Lord will give you strength.

Philippians 4:13 (NIV), “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
Romans 8:11 (NIV), “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV), “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
14. A benefit of prayer is that you can ask the Lord for wisdom.
You have to pray to ask for wisdom.
Proverbs 2:6 (NIV), “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
James 1:5 (NIV), “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
James 3:17 (NIV), “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
15. When you pray and are crushed and brokenhearted, the Lord will be there with you.
Psalms 34:18 (NIV), “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
You might be in a season right now, and your heart is broken into a million pieces. It is because I walked through a time when my heart was shattered, and I had nowhere to turn but to the Lord that my life was changed.
Jesus took my broken heart and crushed spirit, made me whole again, and turned a bad situation into my testimony.
When the Lord Carried Me is a book I wrote about this time in my life. I could not understand how a good God that I had heard about my entire life would do something like this to me. As I cried out to God day after day, my life and my kids' lives were transformed, and we witnessed God's goodness.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV), “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
The benefits of prayer are endless.
The benefits of prayer will not only change your life, but will have ripple effects on the lives around you. This website is a testimony to that.

When you express gratitude in your daily prayer, it shifts your perspective on your day, helping you see God's blessings and the good things in life.

I encourage you to read the Bible. When you pray and read scripture, God's word comes alive and speaks to your heart.
And it is when we read the word of God that we have the renewing of our mind and become a testimony.
The purpose of prayer is to communicate with God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, on a regular basis and develop a personal, intimate relationship.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV), “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Spending time in your daily life in prayer and with the power of faith is life-changing.
Our loving heavenly Father wants to give you the best things in life.
If you are in doubt, I encourage you to investigate, examine the Bible, read, do your research, and pray.

A prayer for you to invite Jesus into your heart and witness the benefits of prayer.
Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner, and I come to you today to invite you to come live in my heart. I believe you came to earth and were crucified and shed your blood on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of my sins, and thank you for dying for me. Lord, I also believe that three days later, you rose from the grave and made a way for me to have eternal life. You ascended to heaven and left the Holy Spirit to live with me until your return. Jesus, I want to have a personal relationship with you and spend time with you. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for being my Lord and Savior. Thank you for always being there and never leaving me. I love you, Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.
